And just like you, we at Dutch for Kids have been counting down the days!
After a long stretch of school and work, we have all earned a bit of rest. Luckily, it is now the Christmas holidays in most countries, so we can finally relax, recharge and spend time with our loved ones.
Have you already decorated the house for Christmas? Have you gathered the recipes for your Christmas dinners? Is the shopping done? Have the presents been bought and wrapped? Are the board games ready to go? Have you stocked up on books and magazines?
We hope you have a wonderful time together.
Dutch Christmas and winter listening stories on YouTube
A lovely long break like this is the perfect moment to curl up with a good book. But sometimes it is just as nice to drift away while someone reads a story aloud. It trains your child’s concentration and helps expand their vocabulary at the same time. Fun and learning, beautifully combined!
We know that as a parent, you do not always have time to read aloud. So we have looked up a few fun Christmas listening stories on YouTube, especially for you. Completely free. Just click and listen (and often watch, too).
For the little ones, the Christmas story with Miffy (Nijntje):
A sweet story about a grandpa bear and a little bear who get ready for Christmas together and celebrate it with the whole family: ‘Is het al Kerstmis?’, the Dutch version of John Prater’s picture book Is It Christmas Yet?
The Christmas story ‘De zoektocht van de vierde wijze’ (The Quest of the Fourth Wise Man), told by the fireside by Art-Jan de Raad and full of suspense. From around age nine.
On behalf of everyone at Dutch for Kids, we wish all our students, their parents, brothers and sisters a wonderful and cosy Christmas.
