Mariëlle Zaagman – Primary School Teacher

I am Mariëlle Zaagman, born and raised in Groningen.

It is with great enthusiasm that I help the ‘Dutch for Kids’ children to develop the Dutch language!

Graduated in 1996 at the PABO in Groningen. I then completed the Special Education program at Windesheim in 1997.

More than 20 years of experience in education. For years I have taught various groups in Almere. In addition to teaching, I also provided education to children who could use some extra challenge.

In 2004 I went back to the North with my husband. And here too I have taught in different groups. My heart went more and more towards tailor-made education!

“What do children need?” And how can I as a teacher make a pleasant and meaningful contribution to that!

That is why I have been working in cluster 2 education for almost 5 years. I supervise children with a language development disorder. (TOS)

Language is an important means of communication!

Being able to contribute to communicating in the Dutch language, I like to be committed to that!

In my private situation, I am married and now have two adolescent children. It was very nice to notice how communication changes in the different stages of life of the children.
