Martine Pietersma – Primary and secondary education teacher

My name is Martine Pietersma and I live in Kampen, from where I give my “Dutch for Kids lessons” via Skype. I am married and have two children. A boy of 7 and a girl of 4.

After obtaining my PABO diploma in 2003, I taught for about six years in regular primary education but mainly in special (primary) education. After this, I taught various theoretical subjects in secondary special education for eight years. During this period, I mainly taught children with some form of autism or ADHD between the ages of 12 and 18.

Because I wanted to deepen and specialize in one subject, I chose to start the Dutch teacher training for secondary education in 2015.

Since January 2017, I have switched to regular education, and I teach in the lower grades of mavo, I do this with great pleasure, havo, and vwo. and it has been a really good choice for me.

Working for Dutch for Kids is the perfect combination for me. I am allowed to teach children in primary school, but also to children in secondary education. In addition, I love working one on one. Nice and individual, but above all at the pace and level that best suits each child!
