Our teaching methods

At Dutch for Kids, have been teaching for over 10 years to more than 1000 expat children! Over the years, we’ve built a language learning program that matches every child’s needs, so you can start with us at any level.

Your child will learn optimally with us through the combination of different learning methods:

Interactive Online Platforms: Besides the colorful lessons we designed, your child also learns through Nieuwsbegrip, Squla, and Jeugdjournaal.
Creative Activities: Your child can also play language games, pictures about every day things, and read stories with their own personal teacher to develop language skills playfully.
Feedback and Reporting: You will receive a report twice a year with updates on your child’s progress so that you are always aware of their development.

The right program for your child

At Dutch for Kids we offer different programs, depending on your child’s age and level.

We use the common methods used in Dutch primary and secondary schools. However, we always adapt our lessons to your child’s level and interests.

For preschoolers (3-6 years): Playful learning with colorful activities and stories, with 30-minute lessons.
For primary school children (6-12 years): Focus on expanding vocabulary, grammar, and writing skills with lessons of 45 minutes.
For high school students (13-18 years): Preparation for exams and improving writing and speaking skills.

Is your child under 6? Then we give lessons of 30 minutes, partly because of their shorter concentration. From 6 years these are lessons of 45 minutes.
