Introductory Meeting with the Parents
Before we begin, you can schedule a short video call with one of our teachers.
During this chat, we discuss your child’s background, age, current level, and your goals as a parent.
This helps us tailor the lessons to your family’s specific needs.

First Contact with Your Child
In the first lesson, the teacher focuses on building a connection with your child.
Whether your child is shy or outgoing, our experienced teachers know how to create a safe and positive atmosphere – essential for learning a new language.

Personalized Dutch Lessons Begin
We start with Dutch lessons made just for your child. The materials fit their age and keep them engaged.
From games and stories to grammar and writing – everything matches your child’s level and interests.
Lessons take place once or twice a week. They last 30 or 45 minutes, depending on your child’s age and focus.
We adjust the lessons as your child grows. You also get a report twice a year.

All lessons are one-on-one, personalized, and 30 minutes long. You can choose between one or two sessions per week, depending on your child’s age, energy and goals.

Examples: What Kind of Preschoolers Join
- Some children already speak Dutch, but need help improving their fluency. With weekly practice, they often gain confidence and fluency within 3 to 6 months.
- Other children are preparing to move to the Netherlands soon and need an intensive course — for example, 3 lessons per week for 2 months. We help them prepare for Dutch primary school.
- Many children live abroad and take weekly lessons to maintain and develop their Dutch while living outside the Netherlands — so that when they return, they’re ready to jump right in.

A personal story
One of my most memorable experiences with teaching young children was my time with Eva. She lives in Poland and started her Dutch lessons with me when she was just five years old.
At that time, I had just started Dutch for Kids. Every lesson with Eva was pure joy. She had never celebrated Sinterklaas in Poland before, but when we started the lessons, she experienced it for the first time. She was so surprised when Sinterklaas even visited her in Poland!
Now, Eva is 18 years old and studying. She continued her lessons with me all the way through 6th grade VWO. This allowed me to closely follow her entire development. It’s not only incredibly rewarding for a child, but also an absolute gift for a teacher!
